Wendy Rowden is the President of 42nd Street Development Corporation (42SDC), a 40-year-old non-profit that champions arts investments that catalyze neighborhood development. Through its two signature projects, Theatre Row and Music and the Brain, 42SDC builds vibrant communities throughout New York City and beyond. Theatre Row is a campus for non-profit theater arts in the heart of the Theater District. Music and the Brain is a powerful neuroscience-based program that uses classroom keyboard instruction to build cognitive and critical thinking skills in pre-K to 5th grade students in resource-deprived communities.
Ms. Rowden has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to joining 42SDC, she led Jonathan Rose Companies’ Investments where she was responsible for all aspects of the firm’s investment management business. Prior to Jonathan Rose Companies, Ms. Rowden served as Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of The Rockefeller Group.
Ms. Rowden is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (Trustee, Chair of 2017 Global Awards Jury, and immediate past Global Chair of the Women’s Leadership Initiative). She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation and the Actors Fund Housing Development Corporation.
Ms. Rowden is a past president of WX (Women Executives in Real Estate) and was the 2016 WX Woman of the Year. She is a former member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Cushman & Wakefield and has taught real estate development at Columbia Business School.
Ms. Rowden is the recipient of numerous other industry awards, including Bisnow’s “50 Most Powerful Women in Real Estate,” United Way’s “Women United in Philanthropy Award,” and Real Estate Weekly’s Top 100 Women in Real Estate.” She holds degrees from Brown University, University of Michigan, and New York University.

Mr. Levine is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for the 42nd Street Development Corporation (42SDC). During his over 20-year tenure, Mr. Levine has guided the organization through many real estate development projects involving community renewal; perhaps the most notable project being the rebirth of Theatre Row.
Mr. Levine serves as a member of The Board of Directors of The Queens Theatre in Flushing Meadow Park and is currently serving his third term as Treasurer. Prior to joining 42SDC, Mr. Levine served as Vice President of Finance and Administration at the Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization.
After obtaining his BA at Connecticut College and an MBA at Boston University, Mr. Levine began his career at Peat, Marwick, and Mitchell (now, KPMG). Mr. Levine then joined Young and Rubicam where he worked in offices worldwide and became Vice President of Business Affairs. Mr. Levine subsequently served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for The Delaware North Company’s Professional Sports Publications.
Mr. Levine is a strong supporter of green spaces and his favorite pastime is bicycling through the wonderful parks within the five boroughs of New York City.

Manager, Theatre Row
Erika Feldman is the General Manager of Theatre Row Studios, a complex of Off-Broadway rental venues, rehearsal studios and office spaces. The venue’s performance spaces range from 55-199 seats. The facility is home to the Keen Company, TACT, The Mint Theatre, the United Solo Festival, TBTB and Pan Asian Theatre Company, as well as many other non-profit and commercial productions.
Prior to joining Theatre Row in 2004, Ms. Feldman worked in company and general management in both the commercial and non-profit theater world. Ms. Feldman is an advisor for the Tenderloin Economic Development Project of San Francisco and hopes to further help them concretize their goal of creating an arts center in the Tenderloin that will be the centerpiece of a civic renewal for that area.

Director, Music and the Brain
Lisala Beatty is the Director of Music and the Brain, a music education program started in 1997 by the 42nd Street Development Corporation (www.musicandthebrain.org). MATB has been used in over 200 NYC public schools, as well as schools in New Orleans, LA, Miami and Ferguson, MO, among other cities. MATB students, mostly 5-8 year olds, learn to read music and play the piano.
Ms. Beatty has played a key role in overseeing and expanding the MATB program, both within NYC and nationally. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, Lisala brings her skills as a music educator as well as her business acumen to her role.
